The Lord is Risen. He is Risen indeed. Happy Easter
On top of everything else going on, a full weekend at St. Paul’s. *Most weeknights this week saw members from eight Tamil choirs practicing for this evening’s (Saturday) Bajanai, an Easter Festival of Song. Thirty-six choristers and another 10 musicians filled the church with the songs of Easter joy for a happy congregation of more than 160 who filled the main floor. Sincere thanks to all participants and volunteers. Sincere thanks to Fr. Milton for his excellent leadership of this great event. *In the background, planning is in the final stages for next Saturday’s African Sounds of Praise Service (7.00 p.m., St. Paul’s). Dancers from St. Paul’s practicing this morning shook the church with joy. The Church of the Nativity (Malvern), St. George’s, Yonge Street, and St. Paul, L’Amoreaux have joined in support of this special service with a distinct African accent. Everyone is invited for what looks to be a wonderful evening of music, dance, preaching and prayer. The guest preacher is The Rev'd Amirold Lazard (Church of the Nativity). Volunteers would be appreciated to help serve a simple reception and to donate finger foods (i.e., cookies, fruit, etc.). Signup sheets are in the entrance. Everyone is welcome. Tell everyone you know. *This afternoon the Strings and Choir were hard at it in preparation for Maytime Melodies, our spring recital on Saturday, May 6. All donations go to support our Outreach Program. *And a special concert coming up on Saturday, May 27, at 7.00 p.m., honoring Annette Brownlee and supporting our new friends, Sanaz and Aliezra, whose reunion in Canada we have co-sponsored. *And then wrapping it up is the Spring Into Summer Steel Concert on Saturday, June 24th, with the Pans sticking around for the combined Grad Sunday Service the next day. Hope is in the air this Easter Season at St. Paul’s. ***** Sounds of African Praise On Saturday, April 29, at 7.00 p.m., join us here at St. Paul’s for a special service - Sounds of African Praise - sponsored by The Church of the Nativity, St. George’s, Yonge Street, and St. Paul, L’Amoreaux. S.P.Y. - St. Paul’s Youth - Friday nights at 7 pm. Contact Sarah for more information: [email protected]. Thank you for your Faithful Gifts and Offerings - St. Paul’s is a strong parish and remained so throughout 2022 due to everyone’s faithful support at a time when never has it been more important. Gifts can be dropped off at the church or sent by mail. Kindly ensure that your name and envelope number is included. Or, members may wish to sign up for the Pre-Authorized Giving Program (contact the office). Members who use online banking can now make E-transfers (instructions here: www.stpl.ca/give.html). Gifts can also be made at our website through CanadaHelps: www.stpl.ca/give.html NOTE: Of the various means for online giving, we recommend The Pre-Authorized Giving Program. It is regular, matching the regular responsibilities of the parish, and once initiated all it takes is a phone call or quick e-mail note to increase, decrease, or cancel the donation. The monthly amount is withdrawn on the 20th of each month, and the cost to the church is 50 cents per transaction, irrespective of the amount of the gift. This makes the PAG the most economical of all methods of giving. Contact - The clergy of St. Paul’s are permitted once again to visit in homes. Don’t hesitate to call or write.
