On Saturday, March 12, 2022, a public meeting was held to consider establishing at St. Paul's an Indigenous Centre for prayer, for services to indigenous elders, and programs for youth. Presentations were made by Archbishop Mark MacDonald, bishop for all indigenous Anglicans in Canada, and by The Rev'd Andrew Wesley, an experienced leader among indigenous people in Ontario and Toronto.
Also in attendance were Ms. Jean Yip, Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough-Agincourt, Mr. Aris Babikian, Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough-Agincourt, and Ms. Diane Duncan, Executive Director of St. Paul’s Centre and St. Paul’s Terrace Life-Lease residences for seniors and of SPLC - Senior Persons Living Connected.
As a result, a planning committee was recruited. The first steps will be to test the viability of St. Paul's as a "home base" for the effort, to conduct research, and to follow up on suggested contacts in Scarborough.
