In 2009, Sylbert Greaves along with Keith and Elizabeth Morris proposed the formation of a steel pan orchestra at St. Paul’s.  With the strong support of Gemini Pan Groove, and the dedicated leadership of director Elton Jones, the idea came to life.

Since then the bands have made nearly two dozen contributions in the Sunday services, they have hosted thirteen thrilling Spring into Summer concerts and the same number of Christmas programs, they have offered impressive performances at the annual city-wide Snowflakes on Steel and springtime Gospel Praise on Steel Concerts, they have traveled with the St. Paul’s community youth music program to Montreal, Washington, DC, Chicago (twice), the Bronx, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, they premiered the Martin Luther King Jr. Walk (by Alex Eddington) along with the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra (2014), and they have answered a long list of invitations across the GTA.
